There are several night train connections to destinations close to Freiburg, e.g. Zürich (Switzerland, 2 hours to Freiburg) or Basel (Switzerland, 1 hour to Freiburg). For more information, consult, for instance Nightjet.


There are three airports close to Freiburg: Euroairport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (1 hour by bus to Freiburg), Frankfurt Airport (2 hours by speed train to Freiburg), and Zürich Airport (2 hours by speed train to Freiburg).

Meals and Conference Dinner

Please note that this is a vegetarian conference. To protect our environment, no meat will be served at the conference venue or the conference dinner. The conference dinner will take place on Monday evening (21/09/2020) at the organic and vegetarian restaurant “Adelhaus” in the beautiful city center. 


The conference fee includes coffee breaks, lunch and the conference dinner. Participants will need to cover the cost of accommodation themselves.

Visa requirements

To enter Germany, you may need a Passport and / or a Visa, depending on the country you live in. For more information, consult: Schengen Visa Information or the Federal Foreign Office

Letter of invitation

A letter of invitation will be available to fully registered delegates (registration must be completed and paid) upon request. Kindly note that the ICEC 2021 organizing team is unable to send invitation letters directly to consulates. Invitation letters are prepared solely for individuals.

Liability and insurance

The ICEC 2021 organizing team cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of or damage to private property of participants. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.
